“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
My Inspiration for Art comes from my experiences living in this crazy world…Along with some of my daydreams. Whether the medium is acrylic, oil or pastels. I enjoy being able to create from my imagination. Making a brush stroke off a feeling. Choosing a color off an emotion. My paintings explore the theme of abstract realism. The longer I work on a piece, the more abstract it becomes, and the more real it appears to me in the end.
I can visualize the work before applying paint. However, I enjoy not knowing what the subject will be. Getting lost in my work. Sometimes, I will walk away from a painting. I always re-use that canvas later on. One incomplete work becomes a finished work with multiple layered projects. In a way, each canvas having its own story.
My creative work extends into media production as well. I have worked for art professors, film directors, TV producers, and artists alike. Each taught me to reach into myself to find out who I truly am as an artist. Set decoration for the feature La La Land was exciting work. Different perspective on how art is used to capture a setting/location/mood. I am in the business of telling stories with my art.
